Welcome to Manor Hill
For an incredible 60 years in September Manor Hill First School has been at the very heart of the Walton Community. Over that time much around the school and in society has changed but the spirit and values vital to the school and children remain the same and are encapsulated by the vision of the school. Today’s children know all about the three ‘Cs’ which identify what matters most at Manor Hill ‘A Community built on Co-operation and Caring’.
Visit the school and you will find that strong positive relationships between parents, families, local community and the school are celebrated in a wide variety of ways. This includes children creating cards for ‘Mothering Sunday’ to thank the most important people in their lives – the women who look after them every day. Community spirit does not just happen on one day a year, however, recently at Manor Hill the children have supported SignPost providing food for the ‘drop-in’ facility, invited parents and other adults to share their favourite stories with them as part of World Book Day and our Year 4 visited Waverley Care Home to read to the residents.
Learning is of course absolutely central to what we do at Manor Hill. We love to celebrate the many successes that the children enjoy and these successes are shared by the parents and carers who are invited on a regular basis to recognise what their children have achieved.
Ask any of the children who come to Manor Hill what is expected of them and they will say ‘At Manor Hill we motivate and co-operate, have a positive attitude, foster a sense of community and strive to do our best.’
For 60 years the children at Manor Hill have enjoyed superb facilities and extensive grounds and we like to think that for the next 60 years the traditional community spirit which has always been associated with this school will continue.
